1. Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membrane

Installation & Handling Requirements

  1. Pretreatment: Feed water must be filtered to reduce suspended solids and prevent fouling.
  2. Pressure Regulation: Operate within the working pressure range of the membrane.
  3. Chemical Compatibility: Use only chemicals that are compatible with polyamide or PES/PSF.
  4. Standard Housing: Ensure the membrane element is installed in a suitable pressure vessel (2.5", 4.0", 8.0" I.D.).
  5. Monitoring: Install inline conductivity and pressure gauges for system diagnosis.
  6. Handling: Store the membrane in dry condition and room temperature before installation, avoid direct sunlight. Once wet, always keep the membrane moist.
  7. Start-up: Discharge permeate in the first hour of operation.
  8. Stabilization: Salt rejection stabilized within 48 hours of continuous operation.
  9. FRP Safety: Use protective equipment when handling FRP shell to avoid contact with glass fibers.
