DuPont Omexell ultrafiltration membranes are part of a purification technology that uses membrane barriers to separate particulates from soluble compounds. These membranes are highly effective for desalination pretreatment, reverse osmosis pretreatment, and wastewater reclamation, as well as drinking water production. This technology offers many advantages, including high and consistent product quality, tolerance to inlet water quality disturbances, and reduced use of pre-treatment chemicals.
These membranes have pore sizes that range from 0.02 to 0.05 microns, which enables high removal rates for bacteria, viruses, colloids, and sludge. The system utilizes an outside-in flow configuration that is tolerant of high solids content and allows the use of air blast cleaning. The PVDF membrane used has high chemical resistance and withstands temperatures up to 40°C, making it a durable and efficient solution for a wide range of water purification applications.
